Elle Nash undercover at the Bravo Packing Kill lot
Elle Nash, founder and president of Manes and Tails Organization Horse Rescue commenced the Bravo Packing investigation in January of 2008.
Since absolutely no animal welfare groups were willing to assist with this "small time horse slaughterhouse," dismissed as a mere "rendering plant", Elle phoned Amanda Sorvino and asked her if she would be willing to risk her life and investigate convicted sex offender, Monty Merola, and his family's horse slaughterhouse, in Salem County, New Jersey.
In February, Sorvino came on board, bringing Inside Edition and CNBC undercover to follow Merola around Cowtown Rodeo and catch him admitting his heinous crimes against horses. Nash and Sorvino spent months and hundreds of hours covertly recording Merola, gathering the evidence, which ultimately led to felony charges being brought against Monty.
